We have had many people query as to the funding of Win a Resort, so have decided to answer your questions here.
The goal is 200,000 entries sold to Win a Resort, for a week holiday for two, plus the entire $1.8m property Seachange Lodge. Rick and Wendy only get market value for the property AFTER the raffle is closed |
That works out at $Au9.8million Sounds an awful lot doesn't it? But let's break that down to reality.

We have allowed up to 25% to be given away in promotion tickets. Up to 12% is taken by banks for processing credit cards 10% allowed in administration, building websites, promotion, wages etc (over three years) All the funds go into YouMe Support Foundation account, under the direction of the Board of Directors and is placed at interest, so that the fund will be onging for many generations to come |
It is hoped to pick up several high achieving students every year who are in danger of dropping out of school because of lack of funds. Students who have proved themselves, have an apptitude to succeed and want to do something constructive for their community.
ALL funds stay in the YouMe Support Foundation account.
On the figures above, it should work out that around $4m will be used directly to put children into high school, not just in Vanuatu, but across the tropical island nations of the South Pacific.
That will see many children being added each year to the program.
If these kids want to go right through to university YouMe Support Foundation will back them, so the number of children added each year will depend on the length of time and amount existing students require funds for.
If Seachage Lodge were sold through a real estate agent, the Tendys would only receive what would amount to their superannuation. They could do nothing to help these kids. They chose to raffle Seachange Lodge as an attempt to raise funds to help more than just a handful of kids.
