South Pacific Resort - Raffled

South Pacific island resort to be given away in a raffle to provide funds for non-repayable education grants for geographically and economically disadvantaged children in Vanuatu.

Seachange Lodge, in Vanuatu in the South Pacific, http://www.seachangelodge.com, will be given away to a lucky winner later this year, through an Internet raffle http://winaresort.com run by YouMe Support Foundation, http://youmesupport.org to raise funds to provide a non-repayable high school-education grant for geographically and economically disadvantaged children in the far northern islands of Vanuatu.

“These children will never have a chance to go to high school, unless we get outside help,” Mr Harris Apos, the Area Secretary said. “Many of our top students will never live their dream of becoming a school teacher, pilot, or nurse, because we get very little assistance from the government.”

Pencils are broken into three to give these children something to write with. One exercise book is shared between three pupils. Often there are no class rooms and no fully qualified teachers.

Since 2004 guests to Seachange Lodge have helped the proprietors , Rick and Wendy Tendys, to send desperately needed school supplies to these far flung islands. You can find more details at http://www.seachangelodge.com

Recently when a cyclone struck the island community, they appealed to the government for help. They were told that the government would look into, but there were no funds in the budget for natural disasters.

Vanuatu was claimed in 2006 to be the ‘Happiest Country on Earth’, but without outside assistance, these communities are left to battle on their own.

YouMe Support Foundation is asking for Your assistance to help these people and give you an opportunity to win up to $1000 cash.
